The Aurora Borealis of 11 May 2024

On the night of the 11th May 2024 the Earth was impacted by a series of coronal mass ejections (CMEs) from the largest sunspot group ever recorded on the sun. The result was a magnificent display of the northern lights seen as far south as Spain in Europe and Florida in the US, even being recorded just 21 degrees from the Equator. These photographs were taken from around Llandudno, Wales.
